How to get around filters using Google Reader

I apologize if this is trivial to you, but as I spoke with some friends I realized this is not common knowledge. I work in a place which filters the websites I get my news from, such as twitter and facebook. They also block traffic on ports other than the normal ones so normal filter breakers don't work. All of the below gives me good results there, so I am sure it will work in countries like china and Iran.


For this to work you need a google account. How to get a google account is beyond the scope of this note, just go to www.google.com and figure it out there. In the rest on this note, I assume you have a google account and you are logged in. Go to

www.google.com/reader

Click on "add a subscription".
Let's say I want to read "iranbaan" on twitter, who happens to be trustable news source.
Put in

"twitter iranbaan"

and click search.

The first thing that comes up is the link

http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/35067843.rss

click on subscribe.

now on the left hand navigation tab, click "Feresteh Ghazi..." and viola! you see all the posts and the top address is "www.google.com/....", so unless google is filtered, this will work.

Notice that if I had known the web address http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/35067843.rss, I could have directly put that in the search and get the subscribe button as well.


As a second example, say I want to see my friends' post on facebook behind the filter. Here is what you do:

You need to find the address of your links' rss feed, so you need to be able to login to your facebook account once, but after that, after you copy this address, you won't have to login again, in order to see what your friends are posting. Here is what you do:

login to you facebook account.
click on applications->links
on the right hand side tab, click "my friends' links'"
copy the address on your browser into the search input in google reader after you click on "Add a subscription" in google reader. This address is like

http://www.facebook.com/feeds/share_friends_posts.php?id=******&key=*********&format=rss20

where I put *** in place of some numbers in my link, yours will be different.
subscribe and viola! you can see your friends' posts without logging back in facebook.

چطور با استفاده از گوگل ریدر فیلترینگ سایت های اینترنتی رو دور بزنیم

اگر این مطلب برای شما بدیهی است معذرت می خوام اما در صحبت با دوستان متوجه شدم که همه از این موضوع اطلاع ندارند. (و تصمیم گرفتم که به بقیه هم بگم.)


من تو محلی کار می کنم که سایت هایی که اخبار رو ازشون می گیرم فیلتره، مثل فیس بوک یا توییتر. علاوه بر فیلتر های معمولی، حتا ترافیک روی پورت ها هم بسته شده و فیلتر شکن های معمولی کار نمی کنند. راهی که الان براتون توضیح می دم تو محل کار من جواب می ده و من مطمئنم که برای دور زدن فیلترینگ تو کشورهایی مثل ایران و چین هم جواب میده.


برای این کار احتیاج به عضویت گوگل دارید. این که چطور عضو گوگل بشید از حوصله ی این بحث خارجه، فقط کافیه به www.google.com سر بزنید و اونجا دیگه خودتون سر در میارین که چطور google account برای خودتون درست کنید. از این جا به بعد فرض می کنم که google account دارید و وارد account تون هم شدید (log in کردید).

به www.google.com/reader برید و روی "add a subscription" کلیک کنید.


مثلا فرض کنید می خواهیم "ایران بان" رو از توییتر بخونیم که اخبار موثقی منتشر می کنه. برای این کار "twitter iranbaan" رو وارد می کنیم و روی کلید search کلیک می کنیم. اولین جوابی که می بینیم این هست:

/user_timeline/35067843.rss


روی subscribe زیر لینک کلیک می کنیم و می بینیم توی لیست سمت چپ صفحه، زیر subscription، اسم فرشته قاضی اضافه شده! اگه توی همون لیست سمت چپ روی اسم فرشته قاضی کلیک کنید تمام پست هاش رو می تونین ببینین اون هم تو صفحه ی گوگل! پس با این راه می تونیم تا وقتی که گوگل رو نبستن، فیلترینگ رو دور بزنیم.

دقت کنین که اگه آدرس یک صفحه ای رو داشته باشیم می تونیم آدرس رو توی search وارد کنیم و مستقیما کلید subscribe رو ببینیم و روش کلیک کنیم.


مثال بعدی وقتیه که ما می خواهیم از پشت فیلتر پست های Facebook دوستمون رو ببینیم. برای این کار احتیاج داریم که فقط یک بار به account خودمون در فیس بوک دسترسی پیدا کنیم تا آدرس ها رو کپی کنیم و دیگه از اون به بعد برای دیدن نوشته های بقیه احتیاجی به وارد شدن به سایت فیس بوک نخواهیم داشت.(البته بگم که نمی تونیم خودمون مطلبی بگذاریم!)

برای این کار به صفحه ی فیس بوک مون می ریم و روی application>> links که پایین صفحه سمت چپ هست کلیک می کنیم.

توی صقحه ی جدیدی که باز میشه سمت راست یه لیستی هست که زیر subscribe to links، نوشته "myfriends links" که باید روی اون کلیک کنیم. از صفحه ی جدیدی که باز می شه فقط آدرس اش رو کپی می کنیم و میریم تو گوگل ریدر خودمون، بعد از کلیک روی "Add a subscription" اونجا paste اش می کنیم و بعد subscribe و بعدش دیگه تمومه!

آدرسی که پیست می کنیم یه چیزی هست در مایه های این آدرس:

البته به جای *** هایی که من اینجا گذاشتم عدد هست که برای هر کسی متفاوته.

خب، می تونین از این به بعد پست های همه ی دوستان تون رو بدون اینکه به فیس بوک وارد بشین ببینین!
